Desk clutter original post that is borked

Transform a bar cart

If you’ve got a small desk, or just need a little more room, move all the clutter off and onto a transformed bar cart, which is exactly what The Every Girl did. It’s also a great way to display your special photos or other trinkets that might have been hidden away behind your monitor or stacks of books.

Create a peg board wall

We’re practically swooning over this peg board wall by Fabric Paper Glue, which is such a smart way to get pretty much everything off your desk, even out of your drawers. Granted, this particular set-up is specific to you crafty types, we can still envision ways where it could be handy for those of us who are swimming under piles of paper.

Add a few hooks, then fill little hanging buckets or baskets with your pens and pencils. Also, stack a few of these envelope wall files down the side to get rid of those paper and magazine stacks.

Mount a towel bar (but not for towels)

News flash: Towel bars aren’t just for towels. They’re also a super clever way to organize your office and work space, like this one from Mountain Modern Life. Yes, you will need a few tools for this, as well as some creative configuring of jars and buckets to use for hanging, but after a couple of hours (maybe less if you’re extra handy), you’ll have a super wall design that just so happens to be an organizational system too.
